Access to clean, reliable drinking water is fundamental to healthy, thriving communities. For many years, the residents of Hammanskraal faced ongoing water quality and supply challenges, highlighting the urgent need for an innovative and rapidly deployable solution. In partnership with Magalies Water, Pro-Plan Consulting Engineers played a key role in the delivery of the Hammanskraal Water Project—an intervention designed to restore confidence in the region's drinking water infrastructure while providing a sustainable, long-term solution for the community.
Access to clean, reliable drinking water is fundamental to healthy, thriving communities. For many years, the residents of Hammanskraal faced ongoing water quality and supply challenges, highlighting the urgent need for an innovative and rapidly deployable solution. In partnership with Magalies Water, Pro-Plan Consulting Engineers played a key role in the delivery of the Hammanskraal Water Project—an intervention designed to restore confidence in the region's drinking water infrastructure while providing a sustainable, long-term solution for the community.
Engineering a Solution for Communities
The project centred on the implementation of a state-of-the-art modular water treatment facility at the Klipdrift Water Treatment Works. Designed to accelerate delivery without compromising quality, the plant significantly increases treatment capacity while ensuring that potable water meets stringent drinking water standards. The modular approach also enabled construction to be completed far faster than would have been possible with a conventional treatment plant. Working closely with project stakeholders, Pro-Plan provided engineering expertise throughout the project lifecycle, coordinating technical disciplines, supporting efficient project delivery, and ensuring that the infrastructure met the functional, operational and long-term performance requirements of the client.
